The topping of ceremony at the West Bristol K-8 School, in Bristol, CT, took place on August 2nd, 2011. The project consisted of approximately 640 tons of structural steel designed by Szewczak Engineers and managed by Gilbane Building Co. The structural steel was detailed using SDS2 software which was intergraded into the Design team’s BIM model. The projected presented several challenges during the shop drawing development due to the complex geometry, radius areas and AESS canopies.
